Annual Adoption Drive Sends Animals Home With No Fees

woodfordhumane.org

Anyone considering adopting an animal in December has a chance to do so for free – during an annual adoption drive at Woodford Humane Society. And while the window closes soon there are still plenty of cats and dogs in need of forever homes.

Last year, the shelter in Versailles found homes for 170 animals in just two weeks thanks to the promotion. During the drive, Quantrell-Subaru picks up the tab for all adoptions, meaning visitors can walk out with a new four-legged friend at no cost.

"It's grown every year, so we're off to a little bit of a slow start this year, but we're really hopeful that it will pick up and we'll have a real busy final week of the drive and send a lot of pets home," says Woodford marketing director Beth Oleson.

Oleson says the shelter is housing about 100 animals right now.

The drive runs through December 22nd.
