The Fayette County School Board has voted to add 30 minutes to the end of each school day to make up for time lost in the classroom because of weather.
The dismissal time change begins on April 20th and the last day of school has been set for May 29th. Fayette County lost seven school days and six hours for delays caused by snow and ice. This change coincides with state law and gives students to required attendance of 1,062 instructional hours and at least 170 school days per year.
