Memorial Service Set For Fallen Firefighters

A memorial service is planned this week in Frankfort to honor firefighters who died in the line of duty.

The service is set for 11 a.m. Wednesday at Juniper Hills Park.  More than 200 names are included on the Kentucky Fallen Firefighter Memorial.  This year four more names are being added: Arlie "Pooh" Hill of Whitley City Fire Department, Charles Goff of McQuady Fire Department, Robert Webster of
Glencoe Fire Department and Jonathon French of Glendale Fire Department.

Before the service, the ninth annual Red Helmets Courage Ride will begin at Frankfort Fire and EMS Station No. 3. The ride is a motorcycle tribute to firefighters who have died in the line of duty, and all proceeds are donated to the memorial fund for maintenance.
