Capilouto In Line For Raise And Bonus

photo provided

University of Kentucky President Eli Capilouto is in line to receive a 2 percent salary increase and a $150,000 performance bonus later today.

A Board of Trustees committee recommended the action Friday morning and the full board will vote on the proposal this afternoon.

Trustees Chair Britt Brockman says the recommendation was based on an outstanding job evaluation for the past year.

Brockman told the Herald Leader that board members routinely rated Capilouto as doing an outstanding job with new building programs, a new dining contract, and holding the line on the proposed Rupp Arena renovation project which is currently on the back burner.

While Capilouto has largely garnered high marks.  There are some concerns in his most recent evaluation….namely improving communications and more emphasis on graduate education and shared governance, and a demonstrable commitment to diversity at the highest ranks of his administration.

Update (5:52 PM): The UK Board of Trustees has approved the raise and bonus, but UK president Eli Capilouto has announced he plans to donate $250,000 for a new health research building.
