U-S Senate candidates Mitch McConnell and Alison Lundergan Grimes have agreed to debate each other on Kentucky Educational Television.
On Monday, KET sent this email message to media outlets including WUKY.
Shae Hopkins, KET Executive Director and CEO, statement following Sen. McConnell’s acceptance of KET’s invitation to appear on Kentucky Tonight:
“Today we received word from Sen. McConnell’s campaign that he has accepted our invitation to debate the issues with Sec. Grimes on Kentucky Tonight on October 13, 2014.
KET is proud to be trusted by the candidates and Kentucky’s voters to provide a fair and independent platform in this pivotal U.S. Senate race.”
This is the first debate in which the two candidates have jointly agreed to appear.
No word on whether Grimes and McConnell will accept invitations to engage one another at Centre College and the University of Kentucky, among other dates and locations.
