Planning Commission OKs Another Kroger Expansion

As a new, much larger Kroger takes shape on Euclid Avenue, the Urban County Planning Commission has approved another Kroger expansion.

The Leestown Road Kroger will undergo a renovation, growing the location by 25,000 square feet. The addition will allow the store to expand its bakery, fresh produce, meat, and organic foods sections.

The Lexington Herald-Leader reports that construction is set to begin next year, with a completion date sometime in 2016.

No neighbors or other businesses expressed objections at Thursday’s commission meeting.
