A Masterson Station neighborhood became the latest area in town to be leafleted by an individual or group promoting the Ku Klux Klan Tuesday.
Officials don’t yet know who’s responsible for distributing the flyers, which started showing up in a number of Lexington neighborhoods in June.
The flyers promoting The Traditionalist American Knights of the Ku Klux Klan show a white hooded man riding a horse with the words “Save our land, join the Klan” printed at the top. WKYT-TV spoke with Frank Giles, a Skyview Lane resident who discovered one of the flyers on his driveway.
"Nowadays you've got all kinds of cultures that's living together side-by-side. So this doesn't need to be done. This is ridiculous," he said.
Similar leaflets were found last month in the Gleneagles subdivision off Polo Club Boulevard.
And while the flyers have many residents upset, Lexington police say there’s no evidence yet of any criminal activity. Distributing the flyers is considered free speech.
