Gov's Son Has Raised $1M For Attorney General Bid

Andy Beshear says he has raised more than $1 million in his bid to become Kentucky's next attorney general.

The son of Democratic Gov. Steve Beshear announced Monday he has raised $1.1 million, including $880,000 in the first quarter of 2014.

In a news release, Beshear also announced the endorsement of former governor and former U.S. Sen. Wendell Ford. Current Democratic Attorney General Jack Conway is not running for re-election because of term limits. The election is in November 2015.

Republican gubernatorial candidate Hal Heiner is expected to announce his fundraising totals later today. So far, Beshear and Heiner are the only statewide candidates for 2015 to file paperwork with the Kentucky Registry of Election Finance.
