Senate candidate Matt Bevin continues to face questions about a 2008 report he signed that contained language praising the federal bank bailout.
After a Christians at the Capitol rally Tuesday, the Tea Party favorite running to unseat Sen. Mitch McConnell repeated his explanation that the signature was a formality required of the president of Veracity Funds investment firm.
"I've signed many documents as president and CEO as required by law. I signed every single document that we were required to file, every single one of them. I did not write any of the investment commentary for any of them," Bevin said.
Sen. Rand Paul has said the news could still damage Bevin’s credibility as a conservative critic of the Troubled Asset Relief Program commonly known as TARP.
Bevin did not respond directly to Paul’s comments, but questioned the priorities of the news media. He argued the focus should be on more substantive issues such as the recent passage of a debt ceiling increase without any cuts, which he called “reckless” and “criminal.”
