LEXINGTON, Ky. - Following a months-long search, the University of Kentucky has announced three finalists for the position of provost.

The university’s top academic office has been open since the middle of 2012, when former provost Kumble Subbaswamy left the post to become chancellor at the University of Massachusetts Amherst. Since then, Tim Tracy has served as interim provost.
Search committee co-chair Michael Reid says the finalists to take over the position are Jose Luis Bermudez, Dean of the College of Liberal Arts at Texas A&M, Nancy Brickhouse, Interim Provost at the University of Delaware, and Christine Riordan, Dean of the Daniels College of Business and the University of Denver.
"We were extremely impressed with the way these candidates carried themselves, their articulate presence, and their ability to speak to the university," Reid says.
Students and faculty will be able to meet and ask questions of the three candidates in a series of forums next Tuesday through Thursday – with a final selection to be made May 14th.
