LEXINGTON, Ky. – The seventy or so protestors camping out as part of the Occupy Lexington movement have been removed from their home base outside of Chase Bank.

The Herald-Leader reports that police peacefully disassembled the encampment earlier this afternoon.

Lexington Police Commander Doug Pape told the paper his officers found the site unoccupied earlier today because the group was in Frankfort attending a rally for displaced State Senator Kathy Stein.

Pape added that while it is not illegal to sleep on the sidewalk, completely blocking one's path is against the law.

Occupy Lexington members said they would discuss their next course of action at a meeting Tuesday evening.
