FRANKFORT, Ky. – Gov. Steve Beshear will end the practice of hosting several inaugural balls at various locations around the Capitol to save on expenses.
Beshear, who was re-elected to a second term earlier this month, is planning a single ball at the Frankfort Convention Center to wrap up a daylong inaugural celebration on Dec. 13. His office made that announcement on Monday.
The inaugural ball, catered by Kentucky State Parks, begins at 7:30 p.m. EST.
The day will begin with an inaugural worship service at the Convention Center at 8:30 a.m., followed by a 10 a.m. parade.
A swearing-in ceremony is set for 2 p.m. and the traditional grand march inside the Capitol for 8 p.m.
