Toyota to Unveil Redesigned Camry

By Associated Press

DEARBORN, Mich. – Toyota is unveiling the 2012 Camry, and hopes new styling and technology will keep the sedan a best-seller despite the competition.

Toyota plans to introduce the Camry at events in California, Michigan and Kentucky on Tuesday, and also via a live webcast. It will arrive at dealerships next month.

This is the first major redesign of the Camry since 2007. Toyota has released few details about the new model.

The Camry is critical for Toyota. It has been the best-selling car in the U.S. for 13 of the last 14 years. Even with shortages caused by Japan's earthquake, it was the top-selling car through July.

But the market Camry competes in is tougher than ever, and includes popular sedans such as the Hyundai Sonata and Chevrolet Malibu.
