LEXINGTON, Ky. – The Fayette County Board of Education will interview three candidates next week to become the school district's new superintendent. Board members narrowed the applicant pool Tuesday night after meeting in closed session.
Names of the finalists will be released today, and each candidate will meet with several focus groups next week. The board's top pick could be announced as early as June 10.
Current Fayette County superintendent Stu Silberman is retiring after 7 years at the helm. He has accepted a job with the Prichard Committee for Academic Excellence.
