LEXINGTON, Ky. – Maker's Mark has unveiled its latest design for a commemorative bottle of bourbon. With Keeneland celebrating its 75th anniversary, Maker's Mark Chief Operating Officer Rob Samuels says a bottle topped with a gold wax seal is a fitting honor for the Lexington race track.
"The Maker's Mark Distillery has produced 18,000 hand-numbered bottles, all of the proceeds of which will be donated to the University of Kentucky Orchestra outreach program."
Symphony Orchestra Director John Nardolillo says beginning this year, the endowment is named in honor retired University of Kentucky President Lee Todd Jr. and his wife Patsy.
"The proceeds from the endowment allow students from the university orchestra to travel around the state playing concerts in schools and working with schoolkids all over Kentucky."
The Keeneland design is the third Maker's Mark bottle to benefit UK's Symphony Orchestra. Previous designs featured basketball coach John Calipari and football coach Rich Brooks.
This year's bottles go on sale April 8 at Keeneland.
