Tim Daisy is a Chicago-based drummer, composer, and label
owner, renowned for his contributions to both improvised and composed music. Since landing in
Chicago in 1997, he has actively engaged with the city’s vibrant creative music scene, performing,
recording, and touring with numerous esteemed musicians and ensembles. His collaborations
include a diverse array of both local and international artists, including Ken Vandermark, Jeb
Bishop, Elisabeth Harnik, Fred Lonberg-Holm, James Falzone, Ikue Mori, Dave Rempis, Steve Swell,
John Tchicai, Russ Johnson, Chris Corsano, Mars Williams, Joe McPhee, Katherine Young, Havard
Wiik, Michael Zerang, and many others.In 2011, he founded Relay Records, an artist-run label that
documents much of his creative work both locally and internationally. Beyond performance and
recording, Daisy has composed original works for modern dance, sound installations,
documentary films, and podcasts.
