Baseball Behind Barbed Wire (2023) Film Screening
Baseball Behind Barbed Wire (2023) will paint the story of Japanese American incarceration during World War II through the lens of baseball. Stripped of their constitutional rights, their homes, businesses, and dignity, 120,000 Japanese Americans were forced into dusty desolate camps, surrounded by armed guards and barbed wire. Ironically, it was the All-American pastime of baseball that saved their sanity.
After the show, stay for a live Q&A with the director/producer, Yuriko Gamo Romer, for a special conversation touching on baseball, citizenship, integration, and hope.
