Fire Chief Jason Wells says the addition of EC13 strengthens the Lexington Fire Department’s ability to deliver emergency medical services to more people more quickly.
"In an emergency seconds matter. The addition of EC 13 will shorten response times and will help ensure that we're able to get the right help to the right person at the right time when emergencies happen," Wells said. Together, we're taking a significant step to ensure that our firefighters and paramedics have the tools that they need to respond quickly, provide the highest level of care, and keep our communities safe for years to come."

This milestone marks the first addition of an ambulance to the LFD fleet since 2018, and the first overall apparatus addition since 2019 when Engine 24 and Tanker 1, were placed into service at Station 24.
