Emergency Care 13 will be housed at Lexington Fire Department Station 16. The firehouse on Man O’ War is built mostly underground and is known as “the Cave.”

Fire Chief Jason Wells says the addition of EC13 strengthens the Lexington Fire Department’s ability to deliver emergency medical services to more people more quickly.

"In an emergency seconds matter. The addition of EC 13 will shorten response times and will help ensure that we're able to get the right help to the right person at the right time when emergencies happen," Wells said. Together, we're taking a significant step to ensure that our firefighters and paramedics have the tools that they need to respond quickly, provide the highest level of care, and keep our communities safe for years to come."
