NWS confirms at least three tornadoes hit Kentucky on Sunday. More storms ahead.

National Weather Service, Louisville

The National Weather Service in Louisville has confirmed that EF-1 tornadoes touched down on Sunday night in Spencer and Bullitt Counties and Fairdale, a neighborhood in Louisville.

Surveys of at least two other damage paths are planned for Tuesday.

More storms are forecast this week. NWS meteorologists say the first round of severe weather is expected to hit the state on Wednesday and could produce heavy rainfall, flooding, high winds, and spin-up tornadoes.

Most of Kentucky, including Lexington, is in the enhanced risk zone with the most significant threat for severe weather along and west of I-65.
