Kentucky Attorney General seeks to uphold convictions in Crystal Rogers Case

Kentucky Attorney General Russell Coleman is asking appellate courts to uphold the convictions of Steve Lawson and Joey Lawson in connection with the disappearance and death of Crystal Rogers.
The men were convicted separately of conspiracy to commit murder and tampering with physical evidence. Joey Lawson was sentenced to 25 years and Steve Lawson to 17 years, with both appealing their convictions.
Coleman filed briefs arguing the evidence supported the verdicts and said the convictions brought long-awaited justice to the Rogers and Ballard families.
Rogers, a Bardstown mother of five, disappeared in 2015. Her former boyfriend, Brooks Houck, was later convicted of her murder.
