Kentucky Democratic leaders and candidates are sounding alarms over President Donald Trump's heightened threats toward Iran, including a bombing campaign that would target civilian infrastructure.
Trump wrote Tuesday in a social media post a "whole civilization will die tonight," adding that he doesn't want it to happen but it "probably will."
In response, Rep. Morgan McGarvey wrote that Trump is threatening a "war crime and a horrifying escalation in the war in he started." The Louisville Democrat went on to urge constituents to call their congressional leaders, saying, "we can and must end this."

Gov. Andy Beshear wrote: "An American President threatening to end a civilization is not just anti-American, it’s flat out crazy."
Appearing on MS Now, U.S. House candidate and former Marine Corps pilot Amy McGrath said, "Our president is sort of making no sense here. I think that the military members who are over there are just trying to focus on their tactical mission, but unfortunately right now we have a president that's tweeting out profanity and the secretary of defense invoking religious terms for the use of violence on Easter morning. I think it's really unhinged."

Fellow House candidate Charles Booker wrote that the Trump threats "cannot be hand waved away as a joke," and called for the removal of the president using the 25th Amendment.
As of Tuesday afternoon, Kentucky Republicans on Capitol Hill had not posted direct responses to the Trump's recent escalating rhetoric, but Congressman Andy Barr has said he supports Trump "100%" on Operation Epic Fury.
