Lee Kiefer is a four time Olympian, a three time gold medalist and the most decorated women’s foil fencer in American history. She graduated from Dunbar’s MSTC gifted and talented program in 2012, and has fond memories of her time here.

Returning to her high school as a legend in her sport, Kiefer is both humble and approachable.
A crowd of students, teachers and media packed into the library to hear Kiefer’s insights into her sport.
Tiny in stature and naturally shy by nature, Kiefer elaborates that fencing taught her that she can nonetheless achieve greatness.
Kiefer shared with the students that the lessons she’s learned in fencing are applicable to their lives at Dunbar everyday.
Kiefer first represented the US as a high school student, and shared that throughout her 7 year Dunbar career she combined a rigorous academic schedule with 15 hours a week athletic training
Kiefer is currently juggling her fencing career with her third year of college at the UK College of Medicine, and she hasn’t ruled out a tilt at a 5th Olympics in four years time.
Before leaving to resume training, Kiefer spent time posing with Dunbar teachers and students, all enthusiastic fans, all excited to welcome her back as one of their own, and perhaps newly inspired to chase their own dreams a little harder.
