This week on the WUKY SportsPage Keith Elkins catches up with a very busy and prolific Billy Reed. The two discuss the hall of fame journalist's life and career and what he thinks of the current state of college athletics.
Billy Reed is a member of the U.S. Basketball Writers Hall of Fame, the Kentucky Journalism Hall of Fame, the Kentucky Athletic Hall of Fame and the Transylvania University Hall of Fame. He has been named Kentucky Sports Writer of the Year eight time and has won the Eclipse Award three times for coverage of thoroughbred racing. He has written for the Louisville Courier-Journal, Sports Illustrated and the Lexington Herald-Leader, is currently a guest columnist for Kentucky Forward, and is the author of 18 books. His autobiography "Last of a BReed" is available on Amazon.
