Jim Kovach achieved academic and athletic success at the highest levels. He was an all-SEC linebacker at Kentucky who played seven seasons in the NFL— and he holds a medical degree from UK and a law degree from Stanford. Today, he is the Director for Innovation and Entrepreneurship for UC-Davis Health and Chief Innovation Officer of Aggie Square, the UC-Davis Sacramento Innovation Center. He was part of a memorable era of football at UK in the mid-70s under Coach Fran Curci, and is a member of the UK Athletics Hall of Fame and the Academic All-America Hall of Fame.
