Kentucky State University

This week on the WUKY SportsPage host Keith Elkins talks with Kentucky State Thorobred great Elmore Smith, who in 1971 was the third overall pick in the NBA draft.  He played for 8 years with the Buffalo Braves, the Los Angeles Lakers, the Milwaukee Bucks and the Cleveland Cavaliers.  Smith still holds the NBA record for most blocked shots in a single game with 17.  He also led the league in blocked shots in 1974 and 1975.  Before all that Elmore Smith was a star at Kentucky State College in Frankfort, (now Kentucky State University) where he played on two NAIA National Championship teams in 1970 and 1971.
