WUKY SportsPage Episode 18: Negro League Baseball@100; A Kentucky Connection

Negro League Baseball Museum

2020 marks the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Negro National League where some of baseball's greatest stars played in the days of racial segregation.  In the late 1970's and early 1980's there were several reunions of Negro League players in Ashland, Kentucky, thanks to the work of a young newspaperman named Tom Stultz who owned the Greenup County Sentinel.  Today Tom is the president of JMI Sports.  The Negro League Hall of Fame was in Ashland for a brief time but was relocated to Kansas City where today the Negro League's Baseball Museum honors the players and their era.  Bob Kendrick is the museum's president.  Tom and Bob are Keith Elkins' guests on the latest episode of the WUKY SportsPage.
