The Woodsongs Old Time Radio Hour Celebrates 1000th Episode

Michael Johnathon

From its humble beginning in 2001, The WoodSongs Old-Time Radio Hour has operated in Lexington as an all volunteer live audience celebration of grassroots music. Every show brings artists and bands from all over the world to share their stories and songs.

The show has grown over the years, airing on 537 radio stations from Australia to Dublin, Ireland, on American Forces Radio Network twice each weekend in 177 nations, every military base and US Naval ship in the world, coast-to-coast in millions of TV homes as a public TV series, and on WUKY, Saturday evenings at 10 pm.

Now they’ve reached an incredible milestone, as Tuesday, November 19 will be the 1000th taping of Woodsongs, featuring legendary cowboy crooners, Riders in The Sky.

Show Host and Producer Michael Johnaton joins WUKY's Joe Conkwright, discussing the early days of   The Woodsongs Old Time Radio Hour and setting the stage for next  Tuesday’s event.
