This week on Dr. Greg Davis on Medicine the host talks with Nina Martin, a reporter with ProPublica, which has been working with NPR on "Lost Mothers," a series of reports on infant and maternal mortality. The U.S. has the highest rate of deaths related to pregnancy and childbirth in the developed world. Martin specifically discusses new guidelines from the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists which represent a fundamental reimagining of how providers, insurers and patients can work together to improve care for women after giving birth.
