Grant Aims To Enhance Diversity At Centre College

Centre College has received a $750,000 grant to support a four-year effort to promote diversity and inclusion at the liberal arts college in Kentucky.

The grant comes from the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation.

Centre President John A. Roush says the grant comes at a time when the school has been gaining momentum in efforts to diversify its student body. He said Monday the Mellon award will support efforts to make similar strides in diversifying the college's faculty and staff.

With the latest grant, the Mellon Foundation has provided more than $2 million in funding to the Danville campus in the past six years. The latest grant is the Mellon Foundation's single-largest award to Centre.
