Two people were hurt this morning on Southland Drive. Lexington Police say car hit a construction worker and an excavator on Southland Drive just after 7:00. The construction worker and woman driving the car had to be taken to UK Hospital and are in stable condition. Crews were working on a drainage project on Southland between Regency Road and Southview Drive. Officials at the scene said the worker was wearing a reflective vest and was blocking off traffic when he was hit.
