The rezoning proposal has frustrated some residents who thought their children would be attending the new facility – only to find out they would not under the newer plan that reached the voting stage.
Monday night, the recommended rezoning plan was okayed as part of a list of consent items on the board’s agenda.
The current zoning recommendation is the sixth iteration, crafted with the intent to allow space for a growing section of the city in Hamburg and Polo Club.
The idea is to start with around 800 students and allow for growth over the next five years, at which point the district believes the capacity would be around 1,200 students, according to WKYT.
