The listening session will be held near the beginning of the meeting, which starts at 6 PM in the Council Chamber on the 2nd floor of the Government Center at 200 East Main Street.

CivicLex's Adrian Bryant said community members who want to speak at the session will be able to sign up with a tablet outside the Council Chamber.

"When you're filling out the form, there will be council staff there to help people through it," said Bryant. "They'll ask if you're interested in speaking on the budget."

Bryant said, if you would like to make your voice heard on the budget but are not able to attend this meeting, you can email your district councilmember. If you're not sure who that is, the city website has a search feature where you can enter your address to find your council district and representative.

"It's also important to remember that, on top of your district councilmember, there are three at-large council members: the vice mayor and the other two at-large members, James Brown and Chuck Ellinger, who represent everyone in Lexington," said Bryant. "You actually have four representatives that you can email and talk about your thoughts on the budget."

On May 15th, Links - small groups of Councilmembers assigned to discuss and revise specific portions of the budget - will submit their recommendations for changes to the full council. On the 28th, the council will decide which recommendations to keep. Once changes are adopted, a final vote is scheduled for June 13th at 6 PM.

The full budget, as proposed by the mayor, can be viewed here. It is the largest budget in Lexington's history.
