For those after some summer fun right now, the Roots & Heritage Festival is already underway and runs through this weekend with one important schedule change: The parade will start at 10 am on Saturday.
The tradition, dating back more than three decades, celebrates diversity through a variety of music and performers, food, clothing, literature, and art. A full schedule can be found at rootsfestky.com.
Down the road in Georgetown, the Festival of the Horse also runs through this weekend with parades, live music, craft vendors, and much more. Toyota’s Grand Parade of Horses starts at 5 Saturday night.
Coming up soon: the Spoonbread Festival in Berea September 15-17, the Midway Fall Festival on the 16th and 17th, and the Festival Latino de Lexington starting on the 22nd.
