Kentucky Sets COVID Death Record For A Second Straight Day

Kentucky’s death toll from the coronavirus has surged after another daily record. And Gov. Andy Beshear is warning some hospitals are being stretched “to the brink” as virus cases escalate. Beshear reported 37 virus-related deaths Wednesday. That surpasses the previous record of 35 deaths posted Tuesday as the state’s total death count approaches 2,000 since the pandemic started.

The latest deaths included people ranging in ages from their 40s to their 90s. Six were under the age of 60. Beshear reported 3,601 new COVID-19 cases. That's the state’s sixth-highest daily total. It pushes total Kentucky cases past 186,000.
