McConnell Springs And Raven Run Open To The Public

McConnell Springs

Despite the chill in the air today, the stream of people wanting to walk the trails at the two nature preserves has been steady. Michelle Franzetti, the special Events Manager with Lexington’s Parks and Rec said there are a few changes you need to know about before you go. First, you need to register on-line for a time slot.

Franzetti says "We would love if you could print that out but we understand that not everyone has access to a home printer so you can bring a screen shot on your phone. We also recommend that you bring a mask with you so anytime that you interact with our staff or someone perhaps from another household when you’re passing on the trail you’re just prepared for that. Then we’ll help you get parked and you’re out on the trail.”

And since the trails aren’t as wide at McConnel Springs Franzetti says "Out at McConnell Springs we have encouraged people to do a one-way around the loop so we don’t have to worry about passing people because there are some places on this trail that aren’t wide enough to keep social distancing while you enjoy the trail. So out at McConnell Springs you will some new signs that encourage you to go a specific way.”
