Literary artists and fans of their work gathered at the Kentucky Theatre Wednesday night for the 7th annual Kentucky Writers Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony.  WUKY's Karyn Czar reports.

Six inductees were honored this year.  Sue Grafton, Alice Dunnigan, Helen Thomas, Jane Gentry Vance, Ed McClanahan and Gurney Norman.  Norman brought the crowd of more than 200 to tears of laughter as he read a passage from his soon to be released book 'Allegience'  The story is about a man named Lindville Price who lived up the creek in rural Kentucky and "was sometimes known for his shading dealings."

The Kentucky Writers Hal of Fame was created by Lexington's Carnegie Center for Literacy and Learning to recognize Kentucky writers whose work reflects the culture and heritage of Kentucky.
