Lexington police are still trying to find out why someone fired dozens of shots into a home early Tuesday morning. A group of children were having a slumber party inside and the barrage of bullets injured an eleven-year old girl inside.
The party was for the victim who turns twelve Wednesday. Investigators say she was alert when she arrived at UK Hospital. Lexington Police spokeswoman Brenna Angel said “several children and adults were inside the home when the shooting occurred.” So far police don’t have a suspect and aren’t clear why the house was targeted. They do not think the shooting was random.
