Four days of celebrating all things brass is under way in Danville. The 28th annual Great American Brass Band Festival attracts thousands of music fans to the historic Kentucky town in Boyle County.
"It's just one of the best known in Kentucky and it's the only one of its kind in the nation, we have people from all over the world coming here," said event associate director Leigh Ferguson. "It's something for the whole family to enjoy, there's kids activities all weekend long, you can take a lawn chair, celebrate outside and take in the beauty of Kentucky," Ferguson told WUKY.
This year's overall theme is a salute to the Roaring '20's.
Scheduled performers include Lexington’s own Wycliffe Jordan, Californian Jens Lindemann, the Boston Brass, and the Rodney Marsalis Philadelphia Big Brass.
