Lexington's Community Action Council kicks off a series of solution-based discussions on poverty this week. CAC spokesperson Cameron Minter says the events have been packaged as PREP talks. PREP, in this case stands for preventing, reducing, and eliminating poverty.
The inaugural event takes place Thursday night at 6:30 in the Transylvania University Campus Center Gym.
"Malcolm Ratchford our executive director will be the speaker for this particular event. His focus will be on equity versus equality and structure barriers. Attendees will also consider ways to end poverty in our neighborhoods," Minter told WUKY.
