Grimes Mum On 2015 Plans

Secretary of State and former Senate candidate Alison Lundergan Grimes isn’t committing to any races in 2015 just yet.

In her first interview with WHAS-TV after her stinging 15-point loss to Sen. Mitch McConnell in November, Grimes makes it clear she won’t be rushing into any decisions.

"There is encouragement from all directions. No shortage of opinions that's for sure. But no election should be run unless it's in your heart and the facts are there to win, and that's what I will weigh and make sure is there before I make any determination," she says.

Grimes’ name has been tossed about as a possible gubernatorial candidate in 2015, but so far only one candidate – Attorney General Jack Conway – has officially declared his intent to run for that office on the Democratic side.

The 36-year-old Secretary of State did tell WHAS she hopes to keep the coalition behind her 2014 Senate bid intact as she explores her options.
