Global Entrepreneurship Week In Lexington

Dreamers, doers, and investors…all three groups are expected to attend the fourth annual Global Entrepreneurship Week in Lexington.

People dream up great ideas for start up businesses every day, but so many never get off the ground.  A weeklong conference in Lexington aims to change that situation.  The fourth annual Global Entrepreneurship Week gathers the thinkers, doers, and investors all in one place, according to Warren Nash, director of the Kentucky Innovation Network, which co-sponsors the event.

Nash says a week's worth of events, many free and open to the public, kicks off Monday at 10 at CommerceLexington headquarters.

"We'll be announcing four companies that will be locating to Lexington under a federal program called the Small Business Transfer Research Grant Program, Kentucky matches those funds, and we'll also be announcing the most recent recipients of the BGA launch grant fund," Nash told WUKY.

BGA stands for Blue Grass Angels, a program that provides financial assistance to start-up companies on the cusp of achieving a critical milestone or developing breakthrough technology.  A complete Bluegrass Entrepreneurship Week schedule is available here.
