Ebola Training Part Of Fort Campbell Soldiers' Prep For Africa

Fort Campbell soldiers are being trained on how to avoid the Ebola virus during their upcoming deployment to Liberia.

Media reports say at least 700 members of the 101st Airborne Division will deploy to the African country starting next week as part of the U.S. military's humanitarian mission. The mission is aimed at building Ebola care centers and training health care workers.

At a training session Thursday at Fort Campbell, Capt. Tyler Mark warned the threat rates in the West African country are much worse than they were for soldiers deployed to Iraq and Afghanistan.

That got the soldiers' attention. Sgt. Jesus Sanchez said it's a scary situation for the soldiers, but said they're going there to help.

The mission's goal is to help stop the spread of the virus.
