Habitat For Humanity Hustling To Meet A Deadline

Habitat For Humanity

The Lexington Chapter of Habitat for Humanity has an immediate need for women volunteers for a special project.

Outreach coordinator Tina Pugel says they can put lots of women to work from now until Sunday at 1741 Elverton Road off Russell Cave Road. No experience necessary, just a willingness to learn!

“We do a women build project every year for the last 14 years…so a group of women got together and said there’s no reason why women can’t build a home together, and so they have really banded together built a number of houses over the past 14 years and this is a home that we are doing in partnership with a family.”

Pugel says the group is under the gun to meet a Sunday deadline.

“Because we’re doing a blitz build we are really just building today, tomorrow, Saturday and Sunday, and we have a long list of things that need to be accomplished in that time frame in order for the electricians, and the plumbers, and the drywallers, and the roofers to come in and complete their tasks in the tight time-frame that we have.”

Pugel says they want the family to be able to move into the house in time for Trick or Treating.  She says all interested women should report to the build site at 1741 Elverton Road, off Russell Cave, just past the Library.
