Police Make 2 Arrests Amid Post-Game Celebrations

Neighborhoods around the UK campus survived another night of revelry following UK's Sweet 16 victory over Louisville.

Authorities say two people were arrested and as many as 25 fires were set in the street celebration.

The Herald-Leader reports thousands of people streamed into the area between State Street and Waller Avenue in Lexington following Kentucky's 74-69 victory in the NCAA Midwest Region semifinals on Friday night.

Lexington Fire Department spokesman Joe Best says firefighters were dispatched to 10 fires but there were no serious injuries. Best also estimated that as many as 25 small fires were set to couches, flags, mattresses and cushions and had to be extinguished.

One person was arrested for alcohol intoxication.

Police were positioned outside bars and along State Street, an area that's heavily populated with student housing.
