Clark County Govt. Considering Going "Paperless"

By Associated Press

Winchester, KY – Officials in Winchester are considering going paperless, saying using an iPad for all official business would save as much as $7,200 annually.

Clark County Judge-Executive Henry Branham and Clark County Attorney Brian Thomas pitched the idea to county commissioners during last week's Fiscal Court meeting.

Branham told The Winchester Sun that dropping paper copies of document such as orders, ordinances and agendas could save the county an estimated $600 a month in materials and time.

Thomas estimated that 500 pages were printed for the last week's meeting.

Branham called the effort cutting edge.

Thomas acknowledged that the effort would require additional money up front for an iPad, which start at about $500 for a new one, but he said the overall results would be cost-cutting.
