Lexington, KY – Monday marks the beginning of Global Entrepreneurship Week - and this year Lexington is taking part.

Nearly 24-thousand organizations will host more than 37-thousand events around the world this week to help aspiring entrepreneurs. One local business eager to tout the resources available in Lexington is an online game design company called Frogdice.

"A lot of our colleagues said you can't do it in Lexington. You can't succeed there. You should move to Austin," said Michael Hartman, owner of Frogdice.

Hartman says initiatives offered through Commerce Lexington, the Lexington Innovation and Commercialization Center, and others convinced him to stay put. Hartman said he was surprised to see how much help was available.

"We knew how to make games. We knew a lot of that stuff, but we really didn't understand some of the organizational things that are really helpful structurally to help your business grow," he said.

More information about Lexington's Global Entrepreneurship Week events is available at unleashingideas.org.
