Frankfort, KY – The presidents slipped out a back door after the 75-minute meeting, but we caught up with Western Kentucky University President Gary Ransdell in the parking lot. Are two-percent funding cuts to the universities going to he restored? "I don't know. It's way to early to start predicting what's going to happen. They're writing the budget. They've got a tough challenge. And we're doing what we can to try to continue to deliver on the investment the state's made thus far."
But Ransdell says it was a cordial and productive meeting. House Speaker Greg Stumbo agrees, and says House leaders will TRY to restore the proposed 20-million dollar per year cuts to university budgets.
