Lexington, KY – Hard to believe, but another flu season is just around the corner, and the Fayette County Health Department is hosting a free drive-thru flu clinic to encourage folks to get that shot early enough so it can do some good. Spokesman Kevin Hall says people aged nine and older can get a free shot at the Lexmark campus Saturday morning from 8 to 11. This year, health officials recommend all children six months and older get a flu shot.

Frankfort, KY – Fuel Total Systems of California, a subsidiary of FTS Company of Japan, will build a 140-thousand square foot facility on 20-acres in Marion County. Governor Beshear says the plant in Lebanon, which will manufacture automotive fuel tank systems, will provide 100 full-time jobs for Kentuckians. Average wages and benefits for these jobs will exceed 20-dollars an hour. I met with officials with Fuel Total Systems in June, during my visit in Japan.

Frankfort, KY – Monday, October 6th is the voter registration deadline for Kentucky's November 4th Presidential Election. Secretary of State Trey Grayson says county clerks across the commonwealth will accept voter registration cards until the close of business Monday. If you have moved, please make sure you check to see that you are registered at your current address. Kentucky law requires you to vote where you actually live.

Lexington, KY – As Governor Beshear's administration works to draft a comprehensive energy policy for the Commonwealth, a new survey out this month shows Kentuckians prefer the state move away from coal as its primary energy source and explore wind and solar power instead. The national survey was conducted earlier this month by the non-partisan Civil Society Institute.

Lexington, KY – Some die hard U-K Basketball fans are once again taking up residence outside Memorial Coliseum to get their hands on Big Blue Madness tickets. Hundreds of fans have been pitching their tents and waiting for the ticket giveaway which doesn't even happen until early Saturday morning.
