Former U of L Education Dean Indicted

Louisville, KY – Robert Felner and an associate are accused of fraudulently obtaining over two million dollars in federal grant money from the University of Louisville and the University of Rhode Island. Felner also allegedly owes 500 thousand dollars in federal taxes.

Felner's attorney says his client will turn himself in, and Felner is expected to be arraigned soon. U.S. Attorney David Huber says further charges and investigations are unlikely.

Lexington Henry Clay HS Home To Teacher Of The Year

Frankfort, KY – This year's Kentucky Teacher of the Year is Karen Gill of Henry Clay High School in Lexington. She received a check for 10-thousand dollars from Ashland Inc., and a decorative cut glass bowl. It's a wonderful honor and I hope I can do justice to it. What are you going to do with all that money?' Have to think about it. I guess, if I was prudent, I could put it back into my retirement account. Some of it will go to the classroom. Have to get something for my students.

Hundreds of UK Folks Seeing "Blue" Today At Keeneland

Lexington, KY – Friday racing at Keeneland always draws a crowd but today, the racetrack has literally been taken over by the University of Kentucky and its SEE BLUE event. Hundreds of blue-clad students, faculty, and staff are spending the day celebrating the state's flagship university, and raising money for a charitable cause. Former UK quarterback Tim Couch and some of his old teammates are autographing special commemorative hats. Sale proceeds go to the university's Dance Blue charity.
