Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell has become the latest politician to be heckled while eating at a restaurant. McConnell and his wife, Secretary of Transportation Elaine Chow were eating at a Cuban restaurant in Louisville Friday night when another patron captured this recording of diners shouting at McConnell to leave.
One of the hecklers allegedly took McConnell’s leftovers and threw them on the sidewalk. Others supported the Senator and told the hecklers to leave. The owner of the restaurant stepped in and asked any unruly customers to leave.
A spokesperson for McConnell released a statement the next day saying “The Leader and Sec. Chao enjoyed their meal in Louisville last night and they appreciate those who spoke up against incivility. They hope other patrons weren’t too inconvenienced by left-wing tantrums. As the Leader often says, the Senate will not be intimidated by the antics of far-left protestors.”
